Operation Parent

Message from Janie Carter:

For those of you who may not know, the Drug-Free Ashley County Coalition (D-FAC) has been working with Operation Parent for the past several months to share a publication they have in both a Standard Version and a Christian Version.  It is also written at both the elementary level and at the middle/high school level.

We have been privileged to use these publications for the past several years through at least one updated revision and find them to be excellent in informing parents about the many dangers our children and families are faced with:  substance abuse, technology, social media, dating, and a plethora of very important items relevant to raising healthy kids and keeping parents sane – at least a little bit –  nowadays.

We are wading through these hot summer months and shooting for starting classes/discussion groups for our parents beginning in the early fall 2026.  We anticipate small groups of interested parents who will join with a facilitator for about a five-week period of one-hour sessions.  We are extra blessed that our Coalition received a supporting grant to help in purchasing the books from the United Fund of Ashley County.  Don’t even tell me that God is not attending to the needs and prayers of our communities in SE Arkansas!

You can read Mr. Bramer’s email below from June 15 (the very day I picked my grandson up from prison because of drugs … sounds like a Country-Western song.  But God…..)  Rather than send my pastor’s name and email or any of yours, I decided to do a collective request and let God sort out the results.  Several of you on this message already have your copies of the Christian versions, some have the Standard version, and a facilitator’s manual.  For those who are just learning about this precious resource, you will see at the end of Darrell’s email that he has the Operation Parent website and other resources listed.

As I said, I am excited that things are moving along here in Ashley County Arkansas and the prevention model for substances and harmful practices is strong.  Let me know if you have questions.  😉

Message from Darrell Bramer

Hi there…  my name is Darrell Bramer and am the Executive Director at Operation Parent… a non-profit based out of Kentucky.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to complete our survey from the Parent Handbook that you received.  Your comments were incredibly encouraging to our team!

When I read your note, “My sincere prayer is that we can help our parents obtain copies of these,” it reminded me exactly why we created the Christian Parent Handbook in the first place. Our hope has always been to equip parents with practical tools and faith-based guidance that encourage meaningful conversations with their children.

I’m grateful to share that we are seeing growing interest from churches and faith communities that want to place these resources into the hands of parents. We are actively reaching out to churches throughout the nation, helping them explore ways to distribute the handbook through their ministries, parenting programs, small groups, and community outreach efforts.

With that in mind, I was wondering if you would be willing to share the name of your home church and, if appropriate, a contact person there. I would love the opportunity to introduce myself, learn more about their ministry, and explore whether the Christian Parent Handbook might be a helpful resource for the families they serve.

Regardless, please know how much I appreciate your encouragement and your prayers. Hearing from people like you reminds us that this work is making a difference, and we’re grateful to have supporters who share our passion for strengthening families and helping parents navigate important conversations with their children.

Thank you again, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Blessings,

Darrell Bramer

  1. This deep dive into usage patterns is insightful. Remember, even with robust systems like the JiliPH ecosystem, reading the meta is key. Check out jljl13 apk for some complementary reads. 🧠
