Message from Janie,
I realize that I may be the only one who did not know about this organization, but I wanted to be sure and share the info with you. Yesterday (Dec 11, 2025) I was invited to a meeting by Morgan Warbington who is the Director of Faith-Based Initiatives and Special Projects in Governor Sanders’ Office. The invitation was in response to my telephone conversation with her about the 10:33 Initiative (based on Luke 10:33 and the Good Samaritan). Two non-profit groups presented information about their missions and this one (Thekitchentablefoundation.org) is amazing. It is specifically for first responders and military veterans. Check it out if you are not familiar. The founder is Juan Acosta, Jr. They took a picture of the group (yes, I am in the corner, first row) that is on the website and on Facebook. 😉
The other presentation was about Food Jobs Work and is awesome as well. It is a 12-week training program for individuals coming out of traumatic situations such as prison, addiction, etc. There are similar programs (according to the founder Christie Ison) all over the country. Here is that website: https://www.foodjobswork.org/. I intend to find out more about this program as well. I was very impressed with both presentations and the people who have started these programs in Arkansas.
I met a man (Kenneth Kendrick) who is with Arkansas Community Correction who said he worked in Ashley County at one time, so some of you may know him. He mentioned that he has worked with our Kelley Cruce in our Ashley County ACC office. He was extremely helpful and offered his opinion that this faith-based group is great for networking…. oh yes, and he made the point that ‘Jesus is the answer’ for all our issues, specifically addiction. Oh yeah….. 😉
I just had to share what I have learned so far and am so very glad I was able to attend. The meeting in January will include Governor Sanders and get into more details about the 10:33 Initiative. A flyer is attached. Link to flyer.
Have a blessed day, weekend, and forever.
